Welcome

Pine Rivers Yoga has been offering Hatha Yoga classes in the Pine Rivers and Moreton Bay region since 2001. It is a practice of Yoga that follows the path of physical well-being and mental calm. The systematized body of knowledge that is Yoga represents the world’s oldest method for improving our health and well-being.

Joining a yoga class is as valuable today as it was when Yoga was first discovered 4000 years ago: by linking practices which connect the mind and the body, hatha yoga seeks to create strength, vitality and peace of mind in anyone who commits to a regular practice.

 

All classes are multi level and suitable for males and females of all ages and physical ability.

Students enjoy the comfort of a clean spacious hall with a smooth timber floor - with the added bonus of airconditioning for summer practice.

Yoga mats are provided or are available for sale.

The practice of Hatha Yoga as taught by Pine Rivers Yoga includes

  • “asana” (strengthening and flexibility postures)
  • “pranayama” (breathing exercises)
  • some practice of meditation and mind control
  • a period of guided relaxation

The teachers at Pine Rivers Yoga have been influenced by a number of different traditions and practices, in particular that of B.K.S Iyengar (Iyengar Yoga), Simon Borg Olivier (Yoga Syngery) and Adam Bornstein (Radiant Light Yoga). The classes are normally 1 1/2 hours in duration. Beginners are encouraged to attend on Monday evenings.
